West London Churches Homeless Concern

The Night Shelter for the Homeless reopens in Barnes at the Methodist Church on Saturday November 15th. It is open every Saturday night throughout the winter until April 11th.

In 2007/2008 WLCHC cared for 171 street homeless people, providing 4,500 units of accommodation and over 10,000 meals and breakfasts for those who are homeless and hungry. But they are not just a night shelter. They also have the resources to give individuals the assistance they need to move away from the street and rebuild their lives. This year they need to raise £215,000 to continue their services for those in need.

YOU can help by giving a gift – any amount is very welcome – and sending the cheque to WLCHC at 155A Kings Road, London SW3 5TX. Or, you can come to the Methodist Church on a Saturday evening and help with preparing the supper for the guests. If you would like to volunteer one Saturday evening, please either phone the church on 020 8487 8285 and leave a message, or email barnesmethchurch@tiscali.co.uk It’s important for the organisers that they know the numbers beforehand. You can be guaranteed of a very warm welcome and a very enjoyable evening.
