Churches Together in Barnes
Praise on the Green 2011

The service was called "God's word for us: yesterday, today and forever" and celebrated the 400th anniversary of the publication of the King James Bible. A mixture of traditional and modern hymns were specially chosen which contained words taken from the Bible. The readings reminded us of the power of God's word to guide and teach His people. The Barnes Concert Band played beautifully and lifted the singing so that together we made a striking and moving sound to float across Barnes Green drawing in people from all around to stop, listen and join in. At the end of the service we were sent out into our familiar streets asking God that we may continue to know His word and His will for us and to find ways to share it in our daily lives.
 Rev'd Richard Sewell
